Vallée de l'Okanagan Valley BC
Voici la fameuse Vallée de l'Okanagan...
Here's the popular Okanagan Valley...
... reconnue pour ses délicieux vins!!!
... known for its delicious wine!!!
Un charmant "Allemand" nous y attendait... :-) - Kurt (rencontré à Yuma AZ)
A nice "German guy" was waiting for us...
Did you know that the Okanagan Valley was part of the Sonoma Desert, located all along the West Coast of the USA? There are cactuses and rattlesnakes here!!!
Our friends take us on a Winery Tour...
Gilles has tasted quite "a few" bottles; and unlike Napa Valley CA, we may bring some bottles back home since there is no border to cross!
Between the tastings, we needed solid food; of course we've accompanied our meal with a nice glass of wine! - Thank you so much, Kurt & Ann, for this terrific day...
We had dinner... with Roger Brown who once retired from Nav Canada moved in the Valley (no wonder!). Very nice evening!
On quitte la MAGNIFIQUE Vallée de l'Okanagan...
We leave the MAGNIFICENT Okanagan Valley...
Mais les paysages continuent à nous émerveiller...
But we are not done yet with all that scenic view...
And can't we read... on the BC licence plates: "Beautiful British Columbia"!!!

En mer... / On sea...
On n'a pas le temps de s'ennuyer en mer...
You won't find time to get bored on sea...
Champagne... de la part du Capitaine!!!
Champagne... from the Captain!!!
Very good shows and entertainments... dance, comedian, musician, movie theater, etc.
Séminaires et présentations de toutes sortes...
Seminars and all kinds of presentations...
We even got the opportunity to visit the galley... Isn't it "Spic & Span"?
La cuisine a ses propres "artistes". Talentueux, non?
You find some "artists" too within the kitchen staff . Isn't he talented?
Et pourquoi pas... une "Dégustation de vin"?
And what about... "Wine Tasting"?
Un rêve devenu réalité... À la prochaine!!!
A dream come true... So long!!!

Ketchikan AK
Ketchikan...
Ketchikan...
... Première ville fondée en Alaska!
... First city to be founded in Alaska!
Founders of the City... Among others, Chief Johnson (left) who welcomed the visitors; a mine worker (top); and Dolly (right). The woman (in front) sings the Ketchikan song.
Here's the house of "sexual services" owned by...
... la jolie Dolly!
... the beautiful Dolly!
Reconnaissez-vous cet article? L'ancêtre de l'urinoir... On peut y lire "Non utilisé depuis 1953"!
Do you know what this is? The ancestor of the urinal... You can read "Not used since 1953"!
Ketchikan is known for its numerous totem poles; they are made out of cedar...
D'ailleurs les boutiques abondent d'art amérindien...
Besides you can find a great number of Amerindian Art all around the city...
These superb pieces of art are made out of marble... We'd be overweight for sure traveling with those!
But I found this pretty "piece of art" for Gilles! :-) What do you think of it?
Oups...
Oups... No, no Mr. Bear; I swear they did not use one of your brothers' skin!

Glacier Bay AK
On approche des glaciers...
We are getting closer to the glaciers...
Voici le glacier Margerie...
Here's the Margerie Glacier...
... d'un peu plus près!
... a little bit closer now!
Impressionnant... Et en plus, il n'a même pas bougé!
The sound of the wave caused by us passing by when it hit this small iceberg was identical to what you'd have heard against a rock... Quite amazing. And more, it didn't even move a bit!
Look at the color of the water... just magnificent!!! The depths of the bay are covered with ice.
Our cruise companion... Volendam from Holland America Line!
Ici... le glacier Lamplugh
Here... the Lamplugh Glacier
Pay attention to the right side of the NEXT picture below... it's the same part of the glacier!

Isn't it beautiful? The right side of the glacier suddenly fell down with quite a "thunder" sound. Aren't we lucky to have been part of this splendid show!!!
